Name James D. Granlund as Chief Technology Officer
SAN FRANCISCO, Mar. 22, 2000 - MyPrimeTime,
Inc., an integrated media company, and myprimetime.com, the definitive
online resource for baby boomers, today announced that James D. Granlund
has been named to the position Chief Technology Officer
(CTO).
Granlund, who brings nearly 15 years of information systems
experience to MyPrimeTime, will be in charge of the company's technology
strategy. His mission will be to move MyPrimeTime into the forefront of
the convergence market, including the development of a significant
broadband presence for cable and broadcast television audiences across the
country.
"Jim possesses a real insight the logistics of growing a
national and international network," said MyPrimeTime Co-Founder and CEO
Craig Forman. "As Web audiences splinter and demand more interactivity and
depth, they will seek out the kind of high quality, personalized
technology that Jim and our team are working on."
Previously,
Granlund was CTO at StarMedia Network, where his mission was the expansion
of the Internet to the Latin American market. While at StarMedia, he grew
the technology and engineering infrastructure to support 20 million daily
page views, built global data centers in Brazil and Argentina, and set
technology direction for several key initiatives, including the
personalization and e-commerce platforms.
Prior to StarMedia,
Granlund served as Vice President of Operations and Technology at CNN
Financial News, where he led a technology and TV operations team to create
the world's first digital, non-linear news network for television and the
Web. Before that, he was at Bristol-Myers Squibb for seven years, where he
led the development and integration of Lotus Notes throughout the company.
He has also worked at Citicorp, where he designed and implemented a
centralized Human Resources information system for approximately 12,000
employees.Granlund holds a B.S. degree from Cornell
University.
