Myprimetime.com
Surges Into Top 300 of All Internet Sites
Dominates Baby
Boomer Online Category with More than 2 Million Unique Monthly Site Visitors
SAN FRANCISCO, July 24, 2000 – Myprimetime.com (www.myprimetime.com),
the definitive online resource for baby boomers and part of media network
MyPrimeTime, Inc., has surged into the Top 300 of all Web sites. With
2.2 million unique monthly site visitors, myprimetime.com is now the category
leader among Internet sites featuring content tailored specifically to
the interests of the baby boomer generation.
The latest Web rankings
continue to demonstrate myprimetime.com's steady increase in site traffic
since the beginning of the year. In just nine months since launching,
myprimetime.com has joined the elite list of top Web sites and eclipsed
all of its competition in the online baby boomer space, including former
long-time category leader thirdage.com. More than half of all Internet
users are in the baby boomer generation, which is defined as the 81 million
people in the U.S. who are 35 to 54 years old.
According to PC Data
Online (www.pcdataonline.com), a provider of technology market research
and Internet audience measurement statistics, myprimetime.com is now the
leading online baby boomer destination. Myprimetime.com's nearly 2.2 million
unique site visitors in June place it at #290 of all Internet sites, with
chief competitor thirdage.com attracting 1.5 million visitors in June
(#464 overall).
According to Media Metrix (www.mediametrix.com), another Internet and
Digital Media measurement firm, myprimetime.com has also surged ahead
of thirdage.com. In its June Internet traffic reports, Media Metrix shows
the MyPrimeTime site attracting nearly 1.6 million unique visitors, placing
it at #250 of all Web sites, compared with slightly more than 1 million
for the ThirdAge site (#442 overall).
"Traffic to myprimetime.com has increased more than ten-fold since the
beginning of the year. Our
affiliation with public television's Nightly Business Report program,
combined with our MyPrimeTime Minute video packages, originally produced
stories, and interactive tools and quizzes, give our site users news they
can use in the most important story of all time – their own lives," said
Craig Forman, Co-Founder and CEO of MyPrimeTime, Inc.
"Myprimetime.com resonates with baby boomers because we are the generation
that defined personal growth. Last year alone, 25 million adults bought
$2.5 billion worth of tapes, videos, and seminars to improve their lives.
We are appealing to these people who want to make positive changes in
their lives and communities, and myprimetime.com is helping them do that,"
added Helen Whelan, MyPrimeTime Co-Founder and President.
"MyPrimeTime, Inc. has tapped into both the individuality of baby boomers
through its life-stage-based content personalization, as well as to boomers
collectively, which as a group has been largely ignored by the media,"
said Ann Winblad, co-founding partner of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners,
a lead investor of MyPrimeTime who also serves on the company's Board
of Directors.
"Myprimetime.com's site traffic is an extremely important metric for any
Internet company, and the quality of MyPrimeTime's all-band content is
the key factor in attracting such a large and growing audience," added
Winblad. "We, as well as key MyPrimeTime advertisers such as Fidelity
Investments, see the huge opportunity in speaking to this active group
who have defined much of the world's experience for the past
half century."
